Introduction
I have stories and photographs of some of the holidays and adventures that I have had. These range from holidays on the beach to adventure in the mountains. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.
Skiing
I am very fond of skiing and try to go as often as I can. I have skied in France, Austria, Italy, Canada and the USA.
I had my first skiing holiday in 1991 when I went to Livigno in Italy. I took a course at my local dry ski slope before I went and that helped. However, nothing could prepare me for my first experience on snow and I fell a lot as I recall. I have been going regularly ever since and have improved a lot but I still wouldn't call myself an "expert".

Climbing & Scrambling
This is an activity that I seem to spend a lot of time doing recently. Every couple of months or so, I find myself spending a long weekend in Wales, the Lake District or Scotland. Anywhere really where there is a lot of vertical.
I have climbed all the highest peaks in the UK: I have been to the top of Snowdon a few times (no, I have never used the train!) and I think I have tried all the tracks. I have climbed Scafell Pike and Ben Nevis. You can read some of the stories and see the pictures by clicking on the links to the right.
White Water Rafting
I first tried this a few years ago. It was in October 1998 that I and a few brave souls set out on a great watery adventure. I must admit that I was a bit apprehensive at the thought of sitting in a raft being tossed around on giant waves and feeling out of control.
Other Holidays
I like to travel and I am lucky in that I have managed to visit a lot of really interesting places around the world. I also like to take holidays in the UK too but, unfortunately, the weather isn't always good. There are some stories and pictures here already and I'll add some more soon.
